The XP Aqua Sumpless 2 Auto Top Off System is an all-in-one ATO designed specifically for rimless aquariums without sumps. By combining precise automatic top-off control with surface skimming and optional media filtration, it helps maintain stable water levels while keeping the aquarium surface clean and oxygen-rich.
Unlike traditional ATO systems, the Sumpless 2 includes a magnetic overflow box that mounts directly to the aquarium glass. This box functions as both a surface skimmer, removing oily surface film, and a housing for filter media such as carbon or GFO. This dual-purpose design improves water clarity and gas exchange while simplifying overall system setup.
The system uses XP Aqua’s proprietary dual-optical sensor technology, combining two high-precision sensors in a single compact module. The lower sensor manages normal water level top-off operation, while the upper sensor acts as a failsafe to prevent overfilling. This redundant design works alongside intelligent QST programming to ensure accurate, stable, and safe operation.
The Sumpless 2 is purpose-built for tanks without a sump, offering a complete water level management solution in a single kit. The included overflow box, DC pump, and controller work together to maintain consistent water levels and improve surface cleanliness, making them especially valuable for all-in-one and nano to mid-size display systems.
Installation is designed to be fast and intuitive with no programming required. The magnetic sensor and overflow box mount securely to aquarium glass up to 1/2 inch thick, while the pre-configured controller allows the system to operate immediately after setup. All components are included for a streamlined, out-of-the-box experience.
A compact DC pump delivers consistent and efficient water flow for dependable top-off operation. Designed for quiet, energy-efficient performance, it provides sufficient head pressure for flexible reservoir placement while maintaining stable daily operation.
The system includes built-in QST (Quick Security Technology), which continuously monitors operation and helps prevent overfilling or abnormal behavior. It works in conjunction with the dual-sensor system to ensure safe operation even in low-light or fully enclosed aquarium cabinets.
